This was the site of the historic Alta Vista Hotel. It was originally built circa 1889, and then expanded repeatedly.

It was demolished in 1963 except for a one-story remnant along Cascade Avenue which survived until circa 1970.

Famed inventor/electrical engineer Nikola Tesla lived here, in room 207, during his time in Colorado Springs from 1899-1900.
