A lake which straddles the Precambrian shield, whose NW shore has shear granite cliffs, and granite besrock with deep rocky drop-offs. While the NE and southern shores are of limestone bedrock with shallow beaches with lots of shallow weeds.

A popular lake for cottagers and campers, the lake is quite buisy during the summer months. And popular among the locals who stay all winter and fish through the ice.

Home of the Royal Caledonia world outdoor curling championship.

  • Frequented the lake in the summer during the 70's. Enjoyed walleye fishing, and snorkeling in the river outlet on the North shore. Water stays cold into july. Home of the famous fur bearing trout
