The Südbahnhof formerly stood on the northern corner of this site. It was demolished in 2010 and a new station - Wien Hauptbahnhof(Vienna Central Railway Station) - was built two blocks south, directly over the curve of the rail lines. The site of the former station was redeveloped as offices and apartments.
