An theatre Built on the six-acre Bank Hey Estate and officially opened on 11th July 1878, the Winter Gardens complex is steeped in history.

The original intention was "to place on the heart of Blackpool withland a concert room, promenades, conservatories and other accessories calculated to convert the estate into a pleasant lounge, especially desirous during inclement days".

The complex has several auditoria main components: the Opera House and Pavilion theatres, the Empress Ballroom, the Olympia exhibition hall and two general purpose rooms, the Arena and the Spanish Hall.

Over the years, the Winter Gardens has seen many changes and developments, resulting in one of the present day's most unique venues.
