Deepor Beel (Assamese: দীপৰ বিল) is a Ramsar list wetland of international importance, on south western part of Guwahati city in Assam, India.

  • Its very near to assam engg college.Nice place to roam around.In the winter , lots of migrating bird visit this place.
  • 'Dipar Beel' is situated in the intersection of 26°7'2"N 91°38'40"E in Kamrup (Metro) district. This is a natural pond on the National High Way No. 31. The name suggested to be originated from Sanskrit word 'Dipa' means Elephant and the pond or the beel is used by the Elephants so the name. This was an imporatant Dockyard of the Tai-Ahom as well the Mughals. This has got a colourful medieval history of conflicts between the Ahoms and the Mughals. It falls under Kampitha and Rambrai Syiemship. This is very imporatant Ecological Station for both land and Aquatic Flora and Fauna also Ornitho species but due to haphazard growth of population the area of the Beel is gradullay shrinking and day is not far for its total extiction so immediate attention is solicited from the concerning National/World Community. Dipar Beel is about 5 Kilometers from the Guwahati Airport (GNB Int. Airport).
