Alfred Road Warehouse had been built during 1938 and had led to Paddington New Yard being re-named as Alfred Road Goods Depot.
Alfred Road Goods Depot closed as a goods yard in 1972 and the Alfred Road Warehouse became a British Rail lost property depot until its sale and conversion into the Great Western Studios in 1994. (a British Rail lost property depot from 1972). The building was sold in 1994 and renamed Great Western Studios.
A 55,000 square foot new building with 100 studios offers workspaces for those working in the creative industries.
