According Hindu mythology the name HINDOL came from MAHABHARAT.It was ruled by the monster "HIDIMBI"(Wife of Vimsen).It was one of among the GARHAJATH(KINGDOM)ruled by several kings upto the indipendence.The famouse places in HINDOL are the beautiful green hills which sorrounds the subdivision and several water falls which attracts tourists , the old king's palace,and the very old high school established by the then king "Raja Nabakishor singdeo", among the other visiting places.There is a big foot mark of "VIMSEN" which attracts many tourists to hindol.Probably that may be the reason the name is HINDOL.
