P J HIndu Gymkhana was founded in 1907 and one of the Founding members was Laxmidas R. Tairsee, one of the first Indian
members of the Bombay Legislative Assembly. He founded the Budhwar Club where prominent Indians met on Wednesday evenings
for networking and making arrangements to assist in the Indepence struggle. The building caught fire in June 1963 and was
completely rebuilt and renovated.
