The new Groninger Museum (1994) is not merely a casing for art, it is a work of art in itself. It is an artwork south of the centre of the city, traversed by public space where passers-by can enter the museum or continue to the railway station or go to the centre.
The Groninger Museum is also built in a 3D virtual world by Martin Sjardijn.
