Originally an ancient settlement at the ford across the Sázava river on the old trade route. Now the city with 4000 population, a recreational hinterland of Prague. Former Benedictines monastery from 1032 with an unfinished gothic cathedral. A large glasswork company Kavalier Glass, a technical glass manufacturer seat.
