Mopani copper mine, Mufulira, Zambia
This is Mopani Copper Mine, located in Mufulira, Zambia. The large blue areas are the tailings and leaching ponds for the mine. The Mufulira mine is one of the largest in Zambia's copper belt, as well as one of the world's largest mines.

At one stage Mufulira used to be the second biggest underground engineering copper mine in the world. That was pre the mud slide disaster which caused the closure of a part of the mine and obviously effected copper output. | ||||
