At 139 metres above sea level this is the highest point in the
Stavanger Kommune, followed closely by Ullandhaug to the northwest at 138 meters above sea level. This site houses the Norwegian National Joint Headquarters (NJHQ), or Felles Operativt Hovedkvarter (FOHK) in Norwegian, under the mountain in bunkers built by the Nazis during WWII and the NATO Joint Warfare Centre in attached buildings outside the moutain. The JWC is currently expanding their facilities outside the mountain.
