'Museum' Square.
In the 13th – 14th centuries, here was a Dominican monastery. Since then, the square was called Dominican Square, and this name remained until 1945.
Since 1945, the square had a name Ploshcha Maksyma Zalizniaka.
In 1946-1993 – Stavropyhiyska Square, in honor of the Stauropegion Institute, located nearby.
The square got its current name Ploshcha Muzeina / Museum Square in 1993.
