The two story, red brick, Colonial Revival building was constructed in 1894 for Detroit banker, William A Butler Jr.. After Butler's death in 1914, the house was acquired by automobile tycoon, John Horace Dodge, who presented it to the Detroit Federation of Women's Clubs. It is now owned by the Central Alliance Church.
