A popular desert terrain sandy beach Clothing Optional and shared public use area on the shores of Wanapum Reservoir, (Columbia River), between the towns of Vantage and George, Washington. Located close to The Gorge Amphitheatre, it is a great getaway to enjoy nude sunning, swimming and boating. And you better like it hot because it can get to well over 100 degrees everyday and there is no shade...so come prepared. The land along the river/lake is managed by Grant Co. PUD and is bordered by State land that is leased to a private group that shares their land with the public freely, (just avoid their camp/beach area on the East end when occupied), and both groups are accepting and tolerant of nude recreation as long as everyone behaves and cleans up after themselves. Pack out your trash, NO fires ever, and no defacing of rocks/features. There is a boat launch at the parking area as well as port-a-potties and miles of trails and giant sand dunes to explore, (even nude). The Nude use areas begin about 100 yds. East of the boat launch/parking area and continues about 200 yds. farther, (or if owners are absent...all the way to the cliffs). A Discover Pass parking permit is required to access the entire area and you will get ticketed with out one. The Sheriff's Dept. also tolerates nude use as long as no problems occur...be respectful of the land, it's owners and the other users. DIRECTIONS: From I-90 take Exit 43 - Silica Rd. (The Gorge Amphitheatre), and proceed N. approx. 1/4 mile and turn left onto Vantage Rd. Follow 4 miles to it's end at the boat launch & parking area. The beach access trail starts to the left of the boat launch. It is a soft sand trail and be careful of Rattlesnakes. Enjoy!
