apartment building, 1882_construction
5-story residential building completed in 1882. Designed by Increase M. Grenell as a store-and-loft building, it is clad in red brick with connected stone sills and peaked lintels. A red-painted metal fire escape runs down the right side of the 3-bay facade, which is crowned by a metal roof cornice. The building has been connected internally to the adjacent building at 165 Spring Street, with which it now shares an entrance. It was converted to apartments at the same time.
