Chidambaram temple is the temple which is called as the capital of saiva samayam and this temple is called as the buloga kailasam.lord nataraja came to the place thillai vanam(chidambaram) and performed his ananda thandavam in the request of the two great saints pathanjali and vyakrapathar on the thai poosam day. This temple is one amoung the pancha bootha sthalams( aakasa sthalam-temple of sky). In generic term 'kovil' means chidambaram temple.the temple was promoted by all the kingdoms who ruled Tamil Nadu. saint sekizhar wrote and presented the 'periyapuranam'. gnanasambandar,sundarar,appar and manickavachakar made tamil hyms on lord nataraja of this temple. with the help of nambiyandar nambi the great king raja raja cholan identified thevaram from this temple. The temple is unique for the pooja method followed by deekshithars (thillai vazh andhanars), which is created by the great saint 'jaimini'. This temple is famous for the two utsavams in every year one is ani thirumanjanam in jun/jul and the other utsavam is margazhi thiruvadhirai in dec/jan. the sculpture in this temple reavles almost all the dance pousters in bharatha natyam (classical dance). every year six times abishekams will be rendered for the lord nataraja and sivagami. The temple contains sannathies of lord ganesha (mukuruni vinayakar), lord parvathi (sivakama sundari amman), lord murugan (pandiyanayagam), navalingam (9 lingams workshipped by nava grhas), lord srimulanadhar(lingam),lord umaya parvathi, lord vishnu (govindaraja perumal),lord nataraja with sivagami under golden roof(ponambalam), 1000 pillars mandabam (rajasabai),devasabai and siva gangai (temple tank).daily six kala poojas performed to lord nataraja and each kala pooja will be very nice and more divinity to see. come and workship and get the grace of lord nataraja.sithsabesaya mangalam. |
