Gwangju Culture and Art Center, the mecca of Honam (Jeolla provinces, southwestern part of Korea) art, is the center of a cultural belt. Gwangju Culture & Art Center consists of a big theater and a small theater, a classical Korean music studio, an arena and a sculpture park. It also has six municipal art organizations: Gwangju Symphony Orchestra, Gwangju City Ballet, National Traditional Music Orchestra, National Classical Music Orchestra, City Chorus, and Boys and Girls Chorus. The big theater was designed to perform the various genres such as opera, ballet, musical and the like. This big theater is the center of performance culture, performing throughout the year. This theater has 1,732 seats with the revolving stage, movable stage, and rising and falling stage.
