Nördlingen is an old town in the Donau-Ries district, in Bavaria, Germany, with a population of almost 20,000. It is located in the middle of a giant meteorite crater, called the Nördlinger Ries. In the closing of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory it is the town that the Wonkavator with Charlie, Grandpa Joe, and Willy Wonka flies over.
