Praia de Barra do Rio

Barra do Rio means something like "the edge of the river". It is a small village 15 minutes drive north of Natal/RN. Around 1200 inhabitants. The city has a small church, some local bars, a couple of small supermarkets etc. This place you arrive to, after having crossed the river on a beach buggy trip on the way north. You cross the river on small rafts pushed by local ferrymen. Barra do Rio have several summer houses for many of the more wealthy citicens of Natal. The proximity to Natal itself makes Barra do Rio a popular spot, still not very "famous". The city and the fantastic beach is still not exploited by international real estate investors, which may change over the next years.
The beach here is fantastic and a reef around 150 off the beach lower the impact of the waves, so at low tide this beach is very children-friendly
