The only actual ancient evidence of St. Paul (and Thecla) in Ephesus. Small cave on the slope of the hill itself dates to 1st or 2nd century; fresco with portrait of Paul, Thecla, and Theokleia (Thecla's mother) probably 5th or 6th century. There is evidence of use as a chapel as late as 11th-12th century. Fresco discovered around 1999 by Austrian Archaeological team.
