When this lot was built, it was owned by First National Pictures, a film distributor who entered the production business. Their first big star was Charles Chaplin. It was built in 1917, and these four stages were the original stages 1-4. In 1928 it was bought by Warner Brothers and by 1936 First National was out of business.
