5-story Neo-Grec residential building completed in 1885 as the westernmost of a trio of matching brownstone buildings. No. 312's ground floor most closely retains its original appearance; the other two have been significantly altered. The facade is painted beige, with a pale-pink ground floor. It has a central, recessed entrance with a wood door below a transom, reached by a low stoop with sidewalls that crosses over the open basement areaways. The stoop and areaways are enclosed behind an iron fence. The doorway is framed by flat pilaster with Corinthian capitals supporting an entablature with two brackets carrying a cornice. To either side of the entry is a large window with a full surround and cornice. Four decorative stone masks adorn the spaces around the windows. In the west bay, there is a basement window, and the east bay has separate gate to a staircase leading down to a basement entrance below the stoop.

The upper floors have four bays of single-windows with full stone surrounds and cornices. A projecting black iron balcony with angled ends fronts the east bay on the 2nd-5th floors, extending over onto the westernmost bay of the neighboring building. A black metal fire escape runs down the middle two bays of the facade, which is crowned by a black metal roof cornice with end brackets, and a ribbed frieze; each of the three buildings has a different cornice. The west elevation is faced in plain concrete, with a few small windows toward the rear.
