In July 2008, it was announced that a new campus for GBC would be developed on Toronto's waterfront, on a site south of Queen's Quay between Jarvis and Parliament Streets (between Corus Quay and Redpath Sugar Refinery. It would increase the college's capacity by an additional 4000 students, and allow the creation of an athletic centre as well as student accommodation. Its academic focus would be towards health science, and open by fall 2011.
