The new United States Embassy in Senegal opened in June 2013 on a 10 acre site in the Pointe des Almadies district of northwestern Dakar.

The project consists of a chancery building, three access control gates, Marine Security Guard Quarters, a parking garage, a recreation facility, vehicle maintenance, shop facility, and a mail screening facility. The new compound will provide a more secure and functional facility for the embassy's 525 US and locally hired employees.
