building/structure currently being renovated/restored/reconstructed, commercial building
The white terracotta-fronted building from 1928 was originally one of several Thompson's restaurants in the city. Most recently it was Ciao Baby!, a restaurant that closed in 2007. As of 2012 the structure was undergoing a $2.2 million restoration as part of the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation's "Market at Fifth" project. The "Thompson's" lettering at the top of the facade remains as a nod to the building's origins.
