Egmont Islands, also known as Six Iles, is an atoll in the Chagos Archipelago (British Indian Ocean Territory), comprising formerly six islands, which are still so-called; however, the eastern two have merged, and the western three have become continuous also. Uninhabited today, they were settled in the last half of the 18th century, until Britain removed all Chagossians in 1971.
