Harvard University, NRHP - National Register of Historic Places, american football stadium, 1903_construction, U.S. National Historic Landmark
Harvard Stadium was constructed in 1903, making it the world's first massive reinforced concrete structure and the first large permanent arena for American collegiate athletics. It was designed by Charles Follen McKim with Lewis Jerome Johnson and George B. DeGersdorff. Construction of the Stadium was funded by the Harvard College class of 1879 and funds from the Harvard Athletic Committee. It is because of this stadium that football has a forward pass. It's also the place where NFL Pro Matt Birk spent his playing days.
