The Atlantic Wall
In Hitler's Atlantic Wall the 16" (40,6cm) gun batteries was the heaviest coastal defence batteries built by the German Wehrmacht. From 1943 three batteries were operational. The two Norwegian batteries was built to protect the iron-ore port at Narvik.
