Official Designation of Manora Dam Irrigation Project is " Manora Dam , D - 04320 " . However local and popular name is " Manora Lake / Manora Talav ". Manora Dam was constructed as part of irrigation projects by Government of Maharashtra in the year 1980 . It is built on and impounds a local nallah . Nearest city to dam is Chandrapur in Chandrapur District of Maharashtra . The dam is an Earth fill Dam .The Length of dam is 890 m ( 2919.95 Feet ) , while the Height of the dam above lowest foundation is 11.2 m ( 36.7454 feet ) .
