4-story modernist commercial building attached to the New York Times Building, completed in 2007. Designed by Renzo Piano and FXFowle, it contains spaces for performing arts, conferences, and exhibitions, along with ground-floor retail. Some of the available spaces are The Stage, a 378-seat auditorium which can also be used as a Screening Room for cinema-quality presentations; The Hall, a customizable 5,000 square feet banquet and product show space; and The Gallery, a dynamic reception and networking area.

At the west end, where the building adjoins the tower, it wraps around an enclosed garden area with birch trees. On both the north and south facades, the 2nd-4th floors have solar screens of thin ceramic tubes like those on the tower. At the far east end, both facades have wide freight entrances with roll-down metal gates. Above there are bands of windows, with vertical and horizontal metal beams spaced slightly in front of the glass. The ground floor on 40th Street is occupied by Muji furniture and homewares store, and on 41st Street by Wolfgang's Steak House.
