Original building of USC and the oldest university building in Southern California, Widney Hall was built in 1880 with the university's housing. It has been moved twice, the original location was in Founder's Park, the second location was approximately across the street from its present location, where Lewis Hall is today.

Widney Hall is Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument #70 and California Historical Landmark #536.
