Tonalá river ride

Guatemala / Retalhuleu / San Martin Zapotitlan /

This is a water way that is themed on Maya culture life, the ride begins on a tire tube through calm waters, on will reach a small Maya village where the natives are grinding maize to make tortillas, others are fishing and one more is building a thatched roof for a hut. As we leave them we reach an abandomed city with huge masks sprouting water, here one will get wet, the ride continues through high walls of temples and once more reaches water sprouting Maya masks; the ride then takes us to an underground structure simulating an earthen temple Maya styled murals -this is a very nice to come back after getting dressed since a cafeteria operates in this structure- and finally the ride goes through some rapids and one reaches the starting point where one may continue the ride and get down on any of the three exiting points.
