The Dirksen Senate Office Building was the second office building constructed for members of the United States Senate in Washington, D.C. and was named after the late Minority Leader Everett Dirksen from Illinois in 1972. The building was designed c. 1958 in the Neoclassical/Art Deco style by Eggers & Higgins as consulting architects. Bas relief sculptures were made by the Rochette and Parzini Corporation of New York.
