  • This is the Bruno u-boat bunker. It had six pens: 3 wet & 3 dry and had a total capacity of 9 u-boats. (The wet pens are on the north side). Work on Bruno began in May 1940. When finished she was 130m x 143m...had a 6m thick roof and 4m thick walls. The RAF conducted three raids against Bruno (4 October 1944, 29 October '44 and 12 January '45). A few bomb hits were scored but little damage was done.
