The Northwest Business District runs primarily along Northwest Expressway from roughly NW 50th to just west of Lake Hefner. The district is home to a wide variety of businesses and the primary location of large buildings outside the Downtown area. Many unique buildings line Northwest Expressway including Valiance Tower (the largest building in Oklahoma City outside the Central Business District), 50 Penn Place, Lakeview Tower, the Oil Center and Founder's Tower. The district is also home to many restaurants and retail locations including numerous strip malls (such as Belle Isle Station) and big box stores.
Indoor malls in the district include Penn Square Mall and 50 Penn Place (which has a large indoor mall in the lower levels of the tower). The area also include Integris Medical Center and Deconess Hospital.
