Sipongsang is located 25 km away from Tuensang Town which was North Eastern Frontier Agency before. Shri. Akum Imlong had served as first Affair Minister hailed from Sipongsang Village. Shri. Apong Commissioner served as Commissioner, Kohima, Nagaland. Thereof, many well educated persons and high profile government servants are from Sipongsang village though the village is small in size. It has a high peak known as Imkongsang from where Saramati range is seen as well as Mokokchung district. During the second world war, the british unit have hold and burried arms and ammunition some around this peak. The said location is to be maintain with the help of the Tourism Department as one of the main tourism attraction spot.
