Built in 1988 on a portion of the former N-29 Pinetree Line radar site, the present-day LAB-2 Radar site is a long-range radar site that operates as part of the North Warning System in the LAB Sector. With its technicians responsible for the operations at their station as well as the two unmanned radar sites at LAB-1/Cape Kakiviak and LAB-3/Cape Kiglapait, the station functions as a logistics and supply hub for its assigned stations.
