Caofeidian is a major land reclamation project in the coast of Hebei province, which transformed some isolated sandbars into a major industrial park and deep-water port. Caofeidian Port, together with Jingtang Port a little further north, forms the Port of Tangshan, one of the major coal ports in China (and therefore the world). Caofeidian's great advantage is that it (as opposed to most other ports in the Bohai Bay) is a natural deep water port (meaning, needing no channel dredging, because the port itself is 100% unnatural), and can accept even the largest tankers and ore carriers.
