Stoney Corners wind farm is located about 4 miles southwest of McBain and 10 miles southeast of Cadillac, Michigan.
It was constructed in phases and it seems that every online resource has slightly different versions, but we can probably say that:
• in 2008, two Fuhrländer FL 2500/90 (2.5MW) turbines were erected directly west of where the electrical substation is now located
• in 2009, 7 REpower (now Senvion) MM92/2050's (2.05MW) were erected and a 20MW substation built
• in 2010, 9 MM92's were erected (all the above in the NW 'lobe' of the wind farm) and a 40MW substation built adjacent to the existing one
• in 2011, 9 MM92's were erected (in the SE 'lobe') as well as two 2.2MW permanent magnet prototypes by Northern Power Systems (near the 'neck' of the wind farm)
In total there are 29 wind turbines with a combined nominal capacity of 60.65 MW.
