This is the palace where the last Raja( the last crowned King of Maipady) Late Mr. Venakatesha Varma Raja had lived and ruled the Kingdom ( widely known as Kumbale Seeme). He passed away on the June 10, 1994. The jurisdiction from Manjeshwar on the North to Chandragiri river on the south , from Mogral on the west ( from the Arabian sea) to Adur on the foothills of the Western Ghats was under his control until the independence of India.The heridetiery trustee of madhur,adoor,kumble and mujangav temples

  • The Raja of Maipady, also known as Kumbla Raja, is known by the Sthanam name "Ramantharasugal". Late M. Venkatesh Varma Raja was Ramantharasugal XI. He became the Raja in the year 1940. He built the first school building for the Maipady School and before that the school was functioning from the Padippura at the entrace to the palace complex. He also organized a mishra bhojana with the members of the SC/ST community members at the palace complex for which Late Sri Rajagopalachari came to Maipady and stayed in his out-house. Late Venkatesh Varma Raja received the Madras Governor Aurther Hope and Lady Aurther Hope along with some eminent personalities of Kasaragod. He was the founder President of Navajeevana High School, Peradala.

  • Kumbale seeme also called as "Satyada seeme". There are 04 main temples and four "Guttu Baarige" (Gutthu Houses) are called as " Naalillu nalveru dever". The four main temples are Adoor, Madhur, Kavu (Mujuvanjavu) and Kanipura (Kumbla Gopalakrishna Temple). The four Guthu Houses are 1. Bola, 2. Mukkuru 3. Kundapu and 4. Kotenja.
