From 1931 to 1973, this was the main branch of the Royal Bank in British Columbia; the bank transferred to the Royal Centre development at 1055 West Georgia Street. The exterior of the building is a combination of Art Deco and Romanesque motif and was designed to be a replica of the bank's headquarters in Montreal.
