Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Gelora, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, Indonesia. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium was built in 1962 to host the 4th Asian Games and was renovated to serve as a venue for the 2007 Asian Cup. Before the tournament, the stadium has not been renovated. Its capacity of 100,000 has been reduced to 88,083. The stadium is named after Sukarno, Indonesia's first president. It also hosted the 1979, 1987, 1997 Southeast Asian Games. It was again renovated in 2017 for the 18th Asian Games in 2018 and the capacity was again reduced to 76,127.
