An excellent example of the Queen Anne style, this wood frame turn-of-the-century structure facing Ruggles Avenue was once part of Bellevue Avenue's Stoneacre estate, which burnt in 1960. The university converted the building to a student residence. Frederick Law Olmsted designed the original landscape.

[a bit of ambiguity, earlier Nat.Reg. form shows as - "Garage belonging to "Seaview Terrace," l927-1929. Normandy manoir style; one-and-one-half stories; stuccoed and timbered beneath a gable roof with cross-gables and dormers." will edit eventually]

  • Both the Newport Map of 1876 as well as the 1907 map show the structure as part of the Stoneacre property.
