Located to the east of Union Square and is bordered by the Corniche from the North and the Tourist Club Area for the West. This area acts as the Central Business District of Abu Dhabi with the Abu Dhabi Securities Market being located here as well as the headquarters of major companies such as Etisalat, the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), Zakum Development Company (ZADCO), Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB). In addition, Al Markaziyah is a major shopping district with major brands and department stores lining Khalifah Street, Hamdan Street, and Electra Street. Moreover, the newly opened Central Market shopping complex has reinstated Al Markaziyah's position as a major focal point for all Abu Dhabi residents.
