  • East or West S.J.C is the BEST
  • I studied here as a child. I still have fond memories. Does anyone remember Mrs Walsh (my teacher)? Anyone who remembers must be pretty old.
  • My Home Away From Home.... My Football Days....
  • "This used to be my playground, this used to be my childhood dream, this used to be the place I ran to, whenever I was in need of a friend". SJC was not only my home away from home it was an extension of my family ….its here that I met and made mates that have stood by me through my life. It is here that we guys learned what it was to be part of a team…learn what it really meant to "always act manfully". Some of the best years of my life were spent here playing football in the evenings after school, coming in on Saturday's on our BMXs and playing soccer in the scorching sun…sometimes playing basketball….getting into fights with the seniors …..staying back in school till 8 o'clock for dance practice before Josephsyna" ….those were the days! True things are not the same…but for me, whenever I walk down memory lane SJC will still be as beautiful as it always was…like a warm friend who is always pleased to see you…
  • sjc was a nitemare, specially mcnamara the pig face
  • Josephites dynamites!!! School was a fantastic experience!!! Most of the teachers were awesome though some were a bit cracked!! Neville McNamara was the only blot of our school. The sooner we are rid of him the better.
  • It was a phenomena in my life to belong to SJC. Br Brendan McCartheige was a true mentor. The discipline of Br. Donohue was awesome and lifelong. It is where I learnt to be a part of the world, to be different, to act different, to act big as propounded by Mr. Joseph Kochupara. The memories are to deep to be a dream. All my present achievements are dedicated to SJC, not a school but an institution which introduced a mission in my life.
  • Where is the class of 1958.Remember Bro.Barrett our greatest teacher.Where is he? Anyone of the time of 1955 to 1958 put in your comment and name and perhaps we can get in touch.
  • heaven on earth is at Joseph's Bowbazar. but some teachers really make it worst than hell.
  • I faced two of the sadistic Brother - Corbett and Hughes, who managed to instil such fear in us at a very early age, that I have nightmarish memories. Infact my father and uncle also had Hughes during their times and the stories I used to hear from them even before I joined KG, were blood- curdling!
  • And another sadistic nightmare was Devasia... he used to scrunch our ears mercilessly or pinch our young Class 6- biceps and either draw blood or make a huge and painful bruise lasting days.
  • well, what to say, just passed out and i am already feeling lonely and missing the old place.Being in SJC was the best thing that happened in my life. and if you ask me, the only rotten apple was the teacher by the name of Mrs Ghosh. worthless piece of creation!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • i was enrolled in st. joseph's college calcutta between 1975 (kg) till 1986(icse).... i went there cause dad went there he often spoke very highly of their charity, wisdom and sometimes joked on the idiosyncrasies of the christian brothers, and spoke of the sadism of most the teachers - both locals and christian brothers. the school is located in the bowbazar area of calcutta - it is adjacent to st. george's school.... the arhitecture is lovely roman aqueduct inspired --- tall high ceilinged, 5 storied building, red bricked, yellow archs.... a huge sandy area for a courtyard for kids to play, wonderful paradise to be for kids - unless you were an average joe's kid who needed to study there - then it was often a concrete jungle, a cruel brutal jail of a system where total rejects from society were given absolute power to wantonly molest kids ...... and sadly nothing seemed to have changed since dad's days. not all, but a significant number of those entrusted with my well being, and for my education were misfits in life and twisted sick perverted sadists. so very, very few of the teachers there during my time deserved their salary.
