This area, which made up the majority of Frontierland other than the Rivers of America, was the site of Mine Train Thru Nature's Wonderland, the Pack Mules, and the Stage Coaches. The attractions were replaced with Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Big Thunder Ranch. Some remains of the Mine Train track still exist along the Rivers of America.

The three attractions went through different areas: Rainbow Ridge, Cascade Peak, Bear Country, Beaver Valley, Living Desert, and Rainbow Caverns. The remains of the mining town of Rainbow Ridge exist today as the mining town of Big Thunder near the queue to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
