The Mission (San Francisco, California)

San Francisco's famed Mission District. A mixture of ethnic groups, mainly Latino (Mexican and Salvadoran), families and young artists, The Mission's two main arteries are Mission Street and Valencia Street, which run parallel to each other and showcase the two main characteristics of the neighborhood. Mission Street (along with 24th Street) is one of the main commercial areas for Latino residents, while Valencia Street is a more gentrified street featuring boutiques and more expensive restaurants.

  • don't forget, your bike should also have a spinergy (or other deep section carbon rimmed) front wheel.
  • uh... I would just like to say that the Mission has a much more interesting story than simply yoga maps & ironic haircuts. Site of the first European settlement in the city, it holds a treasure trove of history & it's gutters run full of the blood of the indigenous peoples who lived here , the sweat of waves of immigrants, and the piss of drunks. Long a working class & immigrant neighborhood, it has only recently become the type of place that the newly nose ringed, gourmet dining & valet parked classes could safely mingle.
  • Don't forget the vegans!
