The former Saint Michael's Roman Catholic Church was built from 1855 to 1861 and designed in Neo-Romanesque style by architect Charles Bartberger. The rectory on the east side of the church was built in 1890 to the Richardsonian Romanesque design of architect Frederick C. Sauer. Both the church and the rectory are on the list of City of Pittsburgh historic designations.
