This is the medieval location of a bridge over the River Westbourne, used by Knights. It is where the name for the area of Knightsbridge originates. The River Westbourne's course is now that of the Ranelagh Sewer, which runs from Hyde Park, between the two embassies here, and down to the River Thames.
